Metro Trains, delivery partner of the Western Program Alliance (WPA) for Victoria’s Level Crossing Removal Project, is currently seeking an Interface Lead (OCS) to join the team supporting the delivery of a large-scale infrastructure projects located in the Western suburbs of Victoria. These projects benefit train users, pedestrians, cyclists, drivers and the wider community by improving safety, reducing road congestion, and enabling more frequent train services.
About the role
Supporting the OCS Project Manager, you’ll undertake specific elements or work packages in the area of managing Victrack activities and supervising OCS site activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage individual packages of work on the project, as assigned by the Project Manager, through the complete project life cycle
- Prepare and manage the project quality documentation for each work package including Construction Execution Plans, Inspection Test Plans, Asset data collection (EACR’s), Redlines & As-Built Drawings
- Prepare work pack documentation for specific activities/works and progress the engagement of the contractor/supplier, including tendering, evaluation contract award
- Accountable for all OH&S for specific activities/works, and ensuring works are undertaken as per the requirements of the Health and Safety Management Plan, including managing sub-contractor competencies and safety documentation SWM’s & JSEA’s
- Discharge all responsibilities in a manner that ensures that the safety of the operating system and personnel is not compromised during the life of the project
- Identify work practices, methods and activities that can be altered or improved
- Assist in the detailed planning for specific project activities, as assigned by the Project Manager
- Assist in managing the administration and control of Contract Instructions, ensuring that any change of scope, direction to proceed, site instruction etc is given to the Contractor(s) in writing and correctly documented
- Manage the receipt of design information and drawings, ensuring the current drawing register is maintained and documentation is issued to all the relevant parties
- Manage the handover process at project completion ensuring that all the key stakeholders are involved and that project documentation is completed in accordance with procedures
- Work with multi-discipline teams, coordinating inputs and reaching a decision for the benefit of the project
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent preferred, or A-grade Electrician holding current Open Registration
- Ability to hold a security advisor license to carry out project activities
- 3 – 4 years project experience of OCS, VicTrack and Electrical/Building Services projects, managing sub-contractors and suppliers working within a rail environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an understanding of the importance of balancing stakeholder expectations and needs with the necessity of meeting project requirements
- Ability to schedule work priorities to ensure deadlines are strictly adhered to with the ability to negotiate outcomes
